Klotrix is supposed to be the mineral supplement for potassium
chloride which is used for averting and treating the reduced levels
of potassium in the blood. Certain level of potassium in the blood
is essential to enable regular functions of cells, nerves, heart,
muscles and kidneys. Such amounts of potassium are generally
attained by eating well balanced diets. Some typical conditions may
lead the body lose potassium faster than it occurs through our
diets, for instance: treatment with diuretic water pills, improper
diets or some medical conditions like diarrhoea with vomiting.
One of the most common side effects of Klotrix is hyperkalemia
besides upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions like
obstructions, bleeding, ulceration and perforations. The most common
side effects however includes: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pains,
abdominal discomfort and diarrhoea. Such conditions are supposed to
be due to the irritation of the gastrointestinal tract and could be
better managed by further diluting the preparation, taking the
prescribed dose with foods or diminishing the dosage.
Moreover, certain less common side effects like: confusion,
irregular or slow heartbeats, numbness or tingling in hands or feet
or lips, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, unexplained
anxiety, uncommon exhaustion or fatigue and weakness or heaviness of
legs may also be experienced by the patient taking Klotrix therapy.
Some of the rare side effects are also reported in remote cases
which include: abdominal or stomach pain and cramping or persistent
soreness, pain in the chest or throat typically while swallowing,
passing the stools with signs of blood in red or black color. For
any unexpected uncommon symptoms, please refer to your doctor on
priority.
